About Charlie Trig
Charlie Trig is the founder of Trig Web Design and Aegis Cyber Defense Systems, with more than three decades of experience in technology, software development, website development, search engine optimization, hosting, and cybersecurity.
His career has not followed a straight line. It has been built through reinvention, persistence, problem solving, and a lifelong belief that technology should be used to help people.
From Brooklyn to Technology
Charlie was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, in 1967. His early life was difficult, marked by hardship, instability, and time in foster care. As a teenager, he made the decision to focus on school and change the direction of his life.
That decision changed everything.
Charlie graduated from Central Islip High School at just sixteen years old, skipping both eighth and tenth grade and finishing with a near-perfect academic record. He went on to attend the New York Institute of Technology on scholarship, earning a degree in Electro-Mechanical-Computer Technology at nineteen.
Those early years shaped much of who he would become: independent, analytical, self-reliant, and determined to keep moving forward no matter what stood in the way.

A Career Built on Solving Problems
After college, Charlie briefly served as an INS agent before moving into the alarm and security industry, where he spent the next decade designing, installing, troubleshooting, and servicing advanced alarm systems throughout Long Island.
The work was physical, technical, and demanding. Charlie became known as one of the top service technicians in the region, often being called in for the difficult jobs others could not solve.
That experience became the foundation for everything that followed. Long before websites, servers, databases, and cybersecurity, Charlie learned how to diagnose complex systems under pressure, solve problems in the field, and take responsibility when people depended on him.
Family and Business
Trig Web Design has always been a family-centered business.
Charlie met Erica in the 1980s, and they married in 1991. Their son was born soon after, followed by their daughter in 1994. Both children grew up around the family business, and Erica was involved in the early years, helping with phones, books, customers, and even computer repairs.
That history shaped the way Charlie views clients.
Business is personal. Trust matters. People remember who answered the phone, who solved the problem, and who stayed with them after the invoice was paid.

Trig-Tech, Software, and the Early Internet
Trig-Tech Computer Systems grew from a small retail computer store into a serious technology business. Charlie sold and serviced computers, built systems, supported customers, and later expanded into Microsoft software sales.
A chance business relationship helped push the company into larger software sales, and for several years, the company generated significant revenue. But like many technology businesses, the market changed quickly.
After 2001, retail computer sales and software margins shifted dramatically. Instead of giving up, Charlie adapted again.
Websites, software development, and online business tools were becoming the future.
Charlie moved deeper into custom software and web development, including a major financial software project that became one of the most technically challenging projects of his career.

Debt Accelerator and Custom Software Development
One of Charlie’s early software projects involved building a complex debt acceleration platform for a financial company. The project required advanced compound-interest calculations, Microsoft SQL stored procedures, Crystal Reports, ASP development, and highly accurate financial modeling.
The software was designed to calculate debt repayment scenarios to the penny, even across long timeframes and complex compounding schedules.
That project eventually helped Charlie become a Microsoft Partner and reinforced something he already knew: he was not just a technician. He was a builder.
He could take a difficult idea, break it down, solve the math, build the system, and deliver something useful.

Trig Web Design
Trig Web Design grew from those early projects into a full-service website development company serving clients throughout New Hampshire, New England, and across the United States.
The company specializes in custom website development, Joomla and WordPress websites, e-commerce, membership systems, directories, database-driven websites, search engine optimization, hosting, maintenance, and long-term support.
Charlie remains personally involved in the work. Clients are not passed from salesperson to project manager to developer. They work directly with the person responsible for solving the problem.
That hands-on approach has become one of the defining traits of Trig Web Design.
The company has completed projects for small businesses, large organizations, non-profits, associations, and government-related entities, including MassMasons, Southern New Hampshire Services, Community Action Program organizations, Divine Interventions, and many others.
Aegis Cyber Defense Systems
In 2017, one of Charlie’s clients was hacked.
The experience left a lasting impression. Anyone who has managed a hacked website or compromised server knows the feeling: the pit in your stomach, the urgency, the anger, and the responsibility to make sure it does not happen again.
Charlie responded by building his own protection system.
What started as a small list of malicious IP addresses grew into Hacker Blocker, a cybersecurity platform designed to stop known bad actors before they could reach protected systems.
Over time, that project expanded dramatically. The system grew to include tens of thousands of IP and CIDR entries, blocking hundreds of millions of hostile or high-risk IP addresses.
In 2024, Hacker Blocker was rebranded as Aegis Cyber Defense Systems to better reflect the seriousness and scale of the mission.
Aegis was built around a simple belief: no business owner should wake up to a hacked server and feel helpless.

More Than Technology
Charlie’s life outside of work reflects the same discipline and curiosity that shaped his career.
He learned to fly while living in Florida and remains passionate about aviation. He has studied martial arts, not for aggression, but for discipline, control, and respect. As a physically large man, he has always believed that strength, whether physical or intellectual, should be used carefully and never to harm others.
He has also focused heavily on personal health, losing more than seventy pounds and continuing toward his next goal.
These details matter because they reflect the same theme that runs through his entire life: keep improving, keep learning, and keep moving forward.

The Philosophy Behind the Work
Charlie has never viewed technology as the end goal.
Whether repairing alarm systems, building computer networks, developing software, designing websites, improving search rankings, or creating cybersecurity tools, the objective has always been the same:
Solve real problems for real people.
That philosophy still guides every project at Trig Web Design.
Clients come to Charlie when their website is outdated, broken, hacked, underperforming, difficult to manage, or not producing results. They stay because he tells the truth, explains things clearly, and takes responsibility for the outcome.
Still Building
More than thirty years after launching his first business, Charlie Trig is still building.
- Still solving problems.
- Still learning new systems.
- Still answering the phone.
Still helping clients turn complicated technical problems into working solutions.
Trig Web Design exists because Charlie believes businesses deserve websites that work, support they can trust, and honest guidance from someone who has spent a lifetime figuring things out the hard way.
That experience is not something you can fake.
It is earned.
